A little room for music.

AFTERTONE is a library of piano, keyboard study and ensemble scores. Each score page identifies its instrumentation. Search by title, composer or BWV number, or browse the complete score directory.

About the editions

The library includes scores re-engraved from scans and adaptations of credited digital editions. Edition notes describe the source, the music included and documented changes. AFTERTONE identifies the prepared edition; the original composer and arranger remain credited.

Choosing an edition

Check the title, composer and BWV number, then read the instrumentation and edition notes. A complete suite, an individual movement and a volume of a study score have different contents. A keyboard study score or open score is not necessarily a two-staff piano reduction. Difficulty labels are approximate selection guides, not examination grades; page counts describe the layout, not the difficulty.

Edition notes retain the recorded source and layout changes, with source and licence links where available. Chinese pages preserve the English title and download the same PDF as the English page. The collection guides help you locate companion works.

For a practical checklist, read Choosing and printing a score. The score guides also offer reading and practice routines for Inventions and the Well-Tempered Clavier.

Preparation & credits

The library is prepared and published under the AFTERTONE name. This edition label does not replace the composer, arranger or original digital editor. Check the work and the particular edition separately against the credits and source notice.

Downloads & use

Preview up to the first two pages, then download the complete PDF for free. Browsing, previewing and downloading do not require an account.

Composer and arranger credits are preserved on each score. Free access does not transfer copyright or grant permission to redistribute a work. Original demonstration studies are labelled in their descriptions.

Maintenance & corrections

For notation errors, credit or source corrections, or download problems, include the score title, page link and the relevant page or measure. The “Report an issue with this score” link on each score page prefills its title and URL.
